Dr. Wollert received his Ph.D from the Helmholtz-Centre for Infection Research, Braunschweig, Germany in 2007 and then move to NIDDK, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA for his Postdoc. He set up an independent lab at Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry from 2010 to 2016. Since 2017, Dr. Wollert serves as Head of Unit “Membrane Biochemistry and Transport” Department of Cell Biology and Infection, Institut Pasteur. His lab aims to understand how cellular organelles are being shaped and uncover the shape-function relationship of organelles at a molecular level. He has been published many articles at Nature, Cell, Nature Communications and PNAS Journals and also received many awards (Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators, ERC-Starting Grant, EMBO Young Investigator Award, Walther Flemming Medal of the German Society for Cell Biology).
